The Margit Sky Project is an incredibly diverse group of musicians that play as a duo or up to a six-piece band. The core duo, comprised of Margit Gossage and Rod (Little Sky) Bandura, are partners on stage and in life. When you hear them play, the close connection between the two will leave you wanting to hear more. They deliver songs with a strong power of emotion whether the songs are the band’s original or cover tunes. When you add a few more band mates to the duo you get the full Margit Sky Project!
We play in the moment so we never know what song is coming next.
Margit and Rod are very passionate about their music and we reached #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown on Sirius XM. We have released three CDs — It’s Been So Long, Two and For The People — a CD of original music. All CDs are available for purchase online and at their live shows. Keep an eye out for these two, they are an incredibly dynamic duo with a very bright future.
Margit and Rod would like to acknowledge the people that have supported them through Covid19. With help from the First Peoples’ Cultural Council they were able to record a performance at Hubcast Media in Langley BC. It was strange not performing for an audience but we still had a great time. We hope you enjoy this video and hope to see you out at some shows soon.
With Margit’s vocals and rhythm guitar, and Rod’s jaw-dropping lead guitar, they have become a very sought after duo in the BC Interior and Alberta. The Margit Sky Project has been fortunate enough to open for Kevin Costner and Modern West, Burton Cummings, Trooper, Barney Bentall, Elliot Brood, and Ridley Bent.
The Margit Sky Project exudes a passion for playing live music that resonates with their audience.
The Margit Sky Project can easily play a 4-hour show and not play the same song twice. No set list is used. No tracks are used. What you see is what you get. The flow of the evening always complements the energy of the audience. All styles of music are played; Rock, Folk, Oldies, Celtic, Originals and a little Country along with a few cool Instrumentals. There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.
